  • Hong Kong Housing Authority has been implementing Feasibility study on the use of Barcode and RFID

    29 Feb, 2008

The Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) is a statutory body responsible for developing and implementing a public housing program. The Government's housing policy is to maintain a stable environment for the sustainable and healthy development of the private property market, as well as to provide subsidized public housing for people who cannot afford private rental housing.

Starting from February 2008, our RFID experts are going to conduct supervision field test and install tags into prefabricated concrete in China sites. It is our honor to assist HA in conducting a feasibility study in prefabrication product monitoring and surveillance in manufacturing plant and site with using of RFID technology.

Our project manager, Francis Tai, said, ¡§This feasibility study is an innovative breakthrough in construction industry.¡¨ He also pointed out that not only the increasing traceability of prefabrication product enhances the inventory management, but also the quality of products can be assured. Besides, the system can allow the future tack of information in maintenance issue.

This feasibility study is undoubtedly a milestone of RFID technology to be further applied in construction field as well as other aspects. With the success of the study, we have the confidence in developing RFID systems and solutions applied in different industries in the coming future.
