In May 2007, Hong Kong RFID Ltd has becoming a member of the
Hong Kong R&D Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain
Management Enabling Technologies (LSCM R&D Centre).
The LSCM R&D Centre was set up by three leading universities
in Hong Kong. It mainly focuses on three major areas,
Logistics and supply chain management infrastructures, RFID
technology enablement and Application systems. The Centre
aims to conduct R&D on the logistics and supply chain
technologies and to facilitate the adoption of these
technologies, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of
industries in Hong Kong and Mainland China.
The Centre pursues cutting-edge research and development,
such as RFID and its related applications, in enabling
technologies that support operations and decisions in
logistics and supply chains. Hong Kong RFID Ltd is one of
the member companies of LSCM R&D Centre. It contributes RFID
solutions and consultancy services in Logistics industry.
With enhanced visibility into inventory level, stick
movement, logistics traceability and field operation,
manufacturers and logistics operators can improve their
productivity and service level to answer the challenges
regarding supply chain efficiency, logistics security and
counterfeit issues and hence maintain the leading role of
Logistics of Hong Kong.
LSCM R&D Centre
LSCM R&D Centre is set up by three leading universities in
Hong Kong. It pursues
cutting-edge research and development in enabling
technologies that support operations and decisions in
logistics and supply chains. The long-term goal of the
Centre is to strengthen Hong Kong's economic
competitiveness, and to enhance its technology leadership in
the logistics/supply chain management industry.
The Centre focuses on three major areas, RFID Hardware and
Systems, Networking and Infrastructure Technologies, and,
Applications and Decision Support Technologies. The Centre
carries out projects that aim to break down the technology
barriers in hardware, software, systems and network design
and development. In addition, it contributes towards the
design and adoption of unified industry standards, enable
companies in the Pearl River Delta region to deploy the RFID
technology and develop highly visible logistics and supply
chain management applications in order to enhance Hong Kong
competitiveness in Logistics.
